The Challenge

Guardio protects over 1-million users from phishing, scams, and malicious extensions, through developing tools and products to combat modern web and browser threats. Its extensive range of services and products requires frequent, open and informative communication channels with clients and potential clients.

However, since there is an increasing number of cybersecurity companies with the same vision of informing and drawing in potential clients, Guardio was challenged with finding its place on the web’s worldwide stage, and being set apart, in terms of reach and response.

Our Approach

Strauss Communications approached a wide array of vertical-focused, cybersecurity journalists from publications specializing in cyber-related news. Through targeted pitches, Guardio’s name and influence started to grow across these industry-specific platforms. We continued to develop rapport with top-tier journalists, helping to establish the company as a voice of authority in these publications.

We also targeted top-tier publications which weren’t specifically cybersecurity-related, but which appealed to readers who might use cybersecurity for business or investment purposes. These business and investment publications further carried the name of Guardio to the company’s intended target market.

But we didn’t stop there. We realized that there were many news-making cyber-related events which held prominence in mainstream media coverage. Identifying these ‘viral events’, we sought to create follow-on articles highlighting Guardio’s expertise on matters related to the events. These triggered waves of follow-on articles, driving traffic and downloads.

The Results

Guardio now stands secure and with authority on social media and news platforms, while at the same time drawing support and funding from industry giants. This is because communication with media and stakeholders has remained consistent through a tailored PR campaign, highlighting the company’s strong points and drawing attention to its innovative research and products.
